Reallocate budgets
You may discover that one investment plan has surplus funds that are urgently needed elsewhere, which requires a budget transfer. Alternatively, you might need to cut funding for underperforming initiatives or add new funds entirely, which requires a budget adjustment.
Who can reallocate budgets?
If you have the Editor or Administrator role, you can initiate transfers or adjustments to update investment budget totals.
Once you submit a request, you can monitor its progress through a transparent approval workflow. This allows you to see whether reallocations are pending, completed, or denied. All users can view request details and history logs for audit purposes.
Process overview
Submit a request: Start a new request from either the Roll-up panel or directly within an investment plan.
Pending status: The request is captured in the Request view with a Pending status, and the required approvers are notified via email.
Approval routing: The workflow depends on the type of reallocation:
Transfer: Moves budget from one investment plan to another. Both the outgoing and incoming sides must have at least one approver confirm the transfer. (Note: If an approver oversees both sides, their single confirmation covers the whole transfer.)
Adjustment: Increases or decreases the budget of a single investment plan. This only requires confirmation from an approver for that specific plan.
Completion: Once approved, the targeted investment budget totals are automatically updated, and you will receive a status email. You can review all past transfers and adjustments at any time in the Requests view.
